What Chemicals do you use?

We Use Permethrin. A synthetic pyrethroid (derived from chrysanthemum flowers), similar to pyrethrins but longer-lasting.

Is it Safe?

While deadly to mosquitos and ticks, Permethrin has very low toxicity to mammals and is considered safe by Health Canada. As a precaution we do require animals and people to be clear of the spraying area for 30 minutes after application.

How Effective is your spray application?

You will notice a instant and dramatic increase in mosquito populations. Permethrin kills mosquitoes on contact and leaves a residual effect, making it good for barrier spraying.  This effect will stop mosquitos from coming back for 30+ days

How Long Does it last?

We typically respray every 30 days to ensure that mosquitos do not have a chance to return to your property.

Can the spray be applied in wet weather?

Generally, no.  If it's raining or if the trees are wet, we will reschedule our spray application.  However, 30 minutes after application, the chemical becomes weatherproof and rains after 30 minutes will not effect it.

How Long Does it last?

We typically respray every 30 days to ensure that mosquitos do not have a chance to return to your property.

Do you offer green or eco-friendly options?

Yes, while permethrins have been deemed safe for the ecosystem by the Canadian government, they do kill at least some other insects.  If you're concerned about that, we offer a garlic concentrate application that  repels mosquitoes for weeks without killing them, if you prefer an eco-friendly approach.
